In surveillance video from Metro, you can see Daniel Weger chase after a young man who stole his iPad around noon on April 13. Wenger was on a blue line train toward Franconia. He had left the Pentagon to go home and then to a second job as an auxiliary police officer inFfairfax County. The video surveillance tape shows the thief jumping off teh train at the Reagan National Airport stop. The chase continued with the men going in and out of trains at that stop. At one point Wenger’s arm got stuck in Metro doors, breaking his arm. Metro police said the suspect jumped down and crossed the platform and even an electrified rail. Pavlik said the suspect is fortunate he wasn’t critically hurt or electrocuted.
