Dingo Ate My Baby, According to an Australian coroner, a dingo killed and ate baby Azaria Chamberlain, a 9-week-old infant, who went missing from a campsite 30-years-ago. Tuesday’s results from the medical examiner’s office were part of a fourth inquest into the death of the child.

When the child went missing, authorities suspected the child’s mother, Linda Chamberlain, of murdering her newborn. She was arrested and convicted in the death investigation. She insisted wild dogs were responsible for the baby’s death.The case gained so much attention that it became the subject of a movie, “Cry in the Dark,” starring actress Meryl Streep.

However, the conviction was later overturned despite no new evidence surfacing about the whereabouts of the missing Australian baby, citing a report from the NY Times.A tearful coroner addressed the Chamberlain in open court in the death of Elizabeth Morris.

“Please accept my sincere sympathies on the death of your special daughter.” I am so sorry. Time does not remove the pain and sadness of the death of a child,” Elizabeth Morris said.

“The cause of her death was the result of being taken by a dingo,” she added.Not many people believed Linda Chamberlain’s story about dingoes killing and eating baby Azaria. In fact, her husband divorced her during the murder investigation and her subsequent conviction.

However, Chamberlain held on to her innocence through all the inquests that produced no additional information about the baby’s death. (Examiner)
